FUSION

ABOUT FUSION

FUSION is a group for 14 to 17 year olds. Originally it was set up to make the transition from Countrysiders to the Senior Young Farmers clubs a little easier. It is also for the younger Senior members who want to stay in touch with their friends still at Countrysiders, or if you have joined seniors but want more friends your own age – contact FUSION at the YFC office or on Facebook.

We also run a Fusion Weekend.  Aimed at 16 -18 age range. Action packed weekend including paintballing and abseiling. Next date to be confirmed . .

I am a North Elmham club member and I heard about the FUSION Summer camp from a couple of my friends – Jo Brown from Dereham and Ed Barker from Wymondham.  They are both ex-Countrysiders and now are junior members at their senior clubs.  There were a good lot of people there.  I wasn’t driving then so my mum took me and several others.  I shared a tent with another Nth Elmham member, Will Abram, until it got infested with ants!  I moved to Ed’s tent!  I thought the Laser shooting was really good and then to go swimming on both days was good fun.  Harvest started at home that day because the weather was so hot and so I was just back in time to help.  If I can get the time off work, I am planning on going again this year.

I heard about the FUSION Bowling Social from the ‘Norfolk YFC Fusion’ facebook page.  I fancied going and so my sister and I asked a couple of friends who had said they were interested in joining Young Farmers, if they would like to come as I thought it would be a good introduction for them to meet a few members.  We got dropped off at Hollywood Bowl in Norwich.  It was really good to see the familiar faces of members I had met at the FUSION camp in the summer.  The bowling was fun and the food was good – lots of it!  It was a great evening in a relaxed environment and when we had finished bowling we played a few games in the amusement arcade.  It was a great way to start the Christmas holidays!

As usual FUSION had a fantastic time at the Countrysiders Ball in April; with loads of members and guests enjoying themselves. It was really nice to see so many new faces on the FUSION table. Welcome!

The evening went without a hitch.  The food was fantastic; the music was brilliant and the company even better. Although the number of members at the evening were lower than previous years, this did not stop everyone dancing the night away with the senior members helping on the evening. Next year, I’m sure will be even better so I hope to see you there!!
