County Organiser
Manager - Administration & Organisation Delivery

The Norfolk Federation of Young Farmers Clubs and Countrysiders (Norfolk FYFC) has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated person to support and manage the day to day running of the Federation as County Organiser. The role will involve working closely with the management committee, third party colleague’s and our membership to help further develop the Federations growth and to support our charitable objectives.  

 

This role requires a great deal of flexibility to work side by side with our Officer team and Clubs. 

 

The role is 25 hours per week with variable hours (including occasional weekend and evening work), mainly based at the YFC Office, Norfolk Showground with occasional attendance at clubs and competition activities.  

Responsibilities

Working with the Executive and small management committees, this varied and important role involves the following responsibilities:  

  • Management of the administration and activities of the Federation. 

  • Liaising with our members, sponsors & supporters, all of whom are from varied backgrounds. 

  • Ensuring the welfare and safety of all individuals is always met to a high standard

  • Attending events, meetings and other occasions representing Norfolk FYFC (occasional evening/weekend work required)

About You

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and driven individual, to lead our staff team and oversee the administration of the Federations activities. Able to use your own initiative, working flexibly to support the needs of our membership. You will need to be able to communicate with people from all ages across different communication channels. The successful applicant will be required to be checked by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

Able to engage with members, sponsors and supporters at all levels.

Job Context

Norfolk Young Farmers is a registered charity supporting rural young people. This voluntary youth organisation consists of 10 senior clubs and 6 junior clubs, with membership ranging from aged 10-30. This position will lead the staff team, being one of the 4 part-time paid county roles, working together alongside the membership to co-ordinate countywide competitions, events, membership, etc.  

The successful candidate would be responsible for general management and would be supervised by the County Chairman. 

Job Summary

This is a senior staff post, co-ordinating activities of all members working for Norfolk FYFC, responsible for strategic direction, sourcing funding, operational structure, assisting and advising the county officers in obtaining the aims and objectives of the members.   

Reporting to the County Chairman and Steering Group.

This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check.

Job Content

  1. Develop strategic plans and engage with the membership. 

  2. Co-ordinate with the safeguarding officer on any matter arising around the members.

  3. Develop and maintain relationships with the funding bodies, sponsors, and other stakeholders, including applying to grant awarding bodies on behalf of the Federation. 

  4. Develop and maintain the policy document for the organisation, including safeguarding, and support members in their implementation. 

  5. Manage and co-ordinate staff to ensure effective operation, including monitoring their professional development and assisting them in achieving their aims. 

  6. Attend and participate in County Committee meetings or events where required. 

  7. Offer support, advice and guidance to county officers and members throughout the organisation, including charitable status and aims. 

  8. Oversee the running of the office including the general marketing and promotional activities that actively increase and maintain membership. 

  9. To liaise and create training events for members alongside the executive committee. 

  10. Oversee social media and website development as required. 

  11. Occasional weekend and evening work as agreed with the County Chairman.  

  12. Any other reasonable duties as requested by the County Chairman and/or Steering Committee.
