“In the past twelve months we’ve had a hoot with Tony Perkins in Dereham town centre for a spot of sausage making. “One of our best and favourite meetings with our members is snow tubing at the dry ski slope, Norwich. Members take it in turns to jump into an inner tube and get pushed down the slope to the bottom, eventually ending up in a big pile at the end!”

"Over its lifetime we have held the county’s biggest dinner dance and raised huge amounts of money for our selected charities, for several years this totalled £10,000 plus! and we couldn’t be prouder of all the hard work put in by our members and our supporting ex-members also especially this year celebrating our 75th year. 
We now have a cohort of younger members who’re giving competitions a go; even attending National Finals!"

Over the past year we’ve been…

“Sausage Making at Browne’s Butchers in Harleston, playing Zoccer! Been on a visit to Cantley Sugarbeet Factory and to the Kettle Chips Factory. Dairy, Beef, Pig & Sheep Stockjudging. We’ve also had talks from our chosen Charity, Big C, Rare Breed Survival Trust and a talk from Agrii, followed by a visit to their crop trials. We’ve even been on a tour around Fen Farm Dairy in Flixton: raw milk & cheese producers, and a visit to Norfolk Fire Service Animal Division”

"We have had some great meetings this year but the best meeting has to be Tubing at Trowse. Every member turned up and it was a great opportunity for our new members to get involved and amongst it. It’s fair to say we all had a laugh. "

“One of North Walsham YFC’s best meetings was a visit to the farriers at Hainford. It was a very hands on and informative meeting with the farriers showing us shoeing on dead horses hooves, as well as a hoof that had been cut in half!”

“The best meeting last year was tree climbing with Ravencroft Tree Surgeons. We all had a great time being monkeys in the trees and trying to climb higher than everyone else. It was good fun and we hope to do it again in the future.”

“A very popular meeting for us last year was a pre-Christmas visit to the local turkey farm where we learnt about plucking, gutting and preparing turkeys ready for the dinner table. Some members donned overalls to ‘have a go’, providing much amusement for the others!” Terrington YFC

“We had a brilliant trip to Beckhithe Farms in Reedham, for a talk on farm health and safety, sponsored by NFU Mutual. We also had a look at beef production and learnt about farming in a national park. It was a brilliant evening finished with a BBQ and a few drinks.”
